Accelerate Application Methods Pros & Cons
Malco® Accelerate All in One Polish & Protection is a versatile one-step polishing compound designed to remove light to medium paint defects while leaving behind a slick waxed surface with lasting protection for up to 90 days. With Accelerate, you can quickly and easily remove swirls, imperfections, and light scratches while leaving a deep glossy finish. Because Accelerate is so versatile, it can be applied by hand using a foam applicator pad or orbital or rotary buffer.
When applying Accelerate, you can spray or dab it onto your applicator pad or buffing pads. The product will scale itself to do what you need whether you don’t have any tools and you’re just looking to brighten the appearance of your car and remove some of the car wash scratches by hand. Or if you have a machine available and want to get a little more correction. When using Accelerate with a buffer, the tool refines the surface better and provides a higher gloss depth in the finish. The forced rotation orbital and the free-spinning orbital are great options if you have tools available. They are super clean and fast. Rotary will also work, but orbitals are recommended for a cleaner application.
If you choose to use a buffing tool to apply Accelerate, keep in mind that it is recommended for swirls, imperfections, and light scratches. If medium or heavy correction is required, start with a more aggressive compound like one of the EPIC® Paint Correction Compounds or Tru-Grit® Heavy-Duty Compound and use Accelerate to finish and protect. Application is best recommended inside or in the shade but can be applied in warm climates and direct sunlight. Accelerate is compatible with virtually any automotive paint, and it is always recommended to test pad and machine speed to dial in preferred correction. Make sure to shake the bottle well, as the formula will separate.
