How to Use Enzyme Cleaner
Removing organic stains from carpet and upholstery is simple with Enzyme Cleaner, a product that utilizes patent-pending cleaning technology and pro-microbial action to remove embedded soils and organic matter. This bio-enzymatic cleaner is designed to remove stains from most fabric surfaces, including carpet and auto seats.
First, let's talk about the chemistry behind Enzyme Cleaner. Enzyme Cleaner employs a safe bacteria that, when placed in contact with protein-based stains (blood, vomit, urine, or feces), feeds off the stain to create enzymes that attack it. The bacteria continue to feed off the stain, creating enzymes until the stain and its fuel source are eliminated. Once the stain is gone and the fuel source is removed, the bacteria will die off. Remember, the enzyme cleaner is designed for organic dyes. It is not intended for oil or solvent-based stains.
One of the major benefits of Enzyme Cleaner is that it's VOC compliant and safe for the environment.
Application
To apply it, you will need Enzyme cleaner, a trigger sprayer bottle, a clean, dry shop towel, and a soft bristle brush. Before beginning, always test in an inconspicuous area for colorfastness.
Saturate the stain with the Enzyme Cleaner and give it some time to work - we recommend a minimum dwell time of three to five minutes. The longer you can let it dwell, the longer time it has to eat the stain. However, do not allow the product to dry completely. If drying begins to occur, apply more Enzyme Cleaner to keep it moist.
After allowing the stain to dwell properly, blot and wipe the stain with a clean shop towel. If necessary, stubborn stains may be scrubbed gently with a soft bristle brush.
